Torn And Restored Effects
The magician rips up a newspaper, sheet of tissue paper, note, or card, and immediately restores it to its original condition.
Torn or cut and restored effects make use of a magic principle that uses a duplicate item. You must have two of something in order to finish with one whole restored object. Before you begin, fold a duplicate into a small bundle and palm it, or stick it to the back of the object to be destroyed. In tearing one piece into smaller and smaller pieces simply bring the untorn duplicate to the tips of your fingers, exchange it for the torn scraps. Palm the scraps and open the duplicate to show that it has been fully restored.
