Spongeball to Rose

Effect:
At the end of a sponge ball routine you magically turn one of the sponge balls into a live rose complete with stem.

Props:
All you need is a live real rose and a set of sponge balls and you are ready to go.

Setup:
The rose is placed behind your back. I simply place the stem under my coat and under my belt with the bud pointing down. This holds the rose in place. At any time I can easily steal the rose simply by lowering my right hand and taking hold of the bud. Pull the bud from the belt and conceal the stem behind the arm.

Routine:
You can use the routine that comes with the sponge balls or any of the more advanced routine. When you are ready, let a spectator examine the ball. While they are examining the ball drop your right hand to your side and steal the rose. Keep the rose stem hidden behind your arm. The bud is in your palm and the stem is held against the inside of your right arm.

Take back the ball with your left hand and simply do a shuttle pass by pretending to put the ball in your right hand. Your right hand holds on to the bud and your left hand keeps the ball concealed while sliding down the stem. This makes the left hand look empty and it appears like the rose slowly transformed in you hand.

I then smell the rose and hand it to the spectator with the hand that is hiding the ball. You can easily dump the ball while they are inspecting the rose.
